Performing Arts Division of the National Federation of the Blind
Find out what's going on with the national office of the Performing Arts Division of the National Federation of the Blind.
Scholarship
The Performing Arts Division will be celebrating it’s tenth year anniversary in Dallas, TX this year in July. As a part of our celebration, we are offering a scholarship to all qualifying high school seniors and graduate students who are studying the Performing Arts.
In 2008, the Performing Arts Division began to start a fund for the Mary Anne Parks scholarship, one of the division’s greatest leaders. In 2005, Mary Anne Parks became a part of this division through her good work ethics, optimism and upbeat personality. Mary Anne Parks was secretary of the Division for 2 years. She won her first NFB scholarship in 2006. She was the record keeper for the division, as well as the secretary of the NFB of Georgia. In 2007, Parks died from injuries sustained in a car crash in Leesburg, Georgia. She will be remembered, and we wanted her memory to continue in this scholarship.

The deadline for application submission for 2010 has already passed and the scholarship will be awarded at the convention of the National Federation of the Blind, July 3 to 8, 2010 in Dallas TX. If you have any questions about the scholarship, contact Lisa Ostrow, the scholarship coordinator.
